PROBLEM
Reduced efficiency and heat exchange due to limescale build-up on the inner surfaces of pipes and tube plates.
SOLUTION
Application of a PHENCOTE HR60TL internal resin coating to reduce fouling, corrosion, erosion and cavitation, improving thermal efficiency and preventing future corrosive damage.
The proposed application of an internal PHENCOTE HR60TL resin coating improves the condition of the pipes and tube plates in the heat exchange system. This coating has been shown to reduce fouling, corrosion, erosion and cavitation, improving thermal efficiency and preventing future corrosive damage. PHENCOTE HR60TL resin has high chemical resistance and can be immersed in any type of water, able to resist operating temperatures of up to 100°C. The coating was applied directly in the plant with the semi-automatic coating machine, allowing its rapid application with a final thickness of 30 μm to 250 μm.
The coating has been shown to reduce heat transfer resistance and prevent the adhesion of dirt particles and aquatic organisms to inner pipe surfaces. Moreover, the coating protects the tube plates from galvanic corrosion caused by contact with more or less noble metals.
